Flights not part of Air Show - no registration

Fly without registration during the Coupe Icare

Are you a paraglider or hang glider pilot who will be at the Coupe Icare starting Tuesday to attend the evening screenings of the Icare Film Festival?

Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 September 2026 at St Hilaire
You can fly without registering; this time slot is shared with the Icare Test activity (which requires registration at the South launch site).
Takeoff: Déco Nord + Déco Est at St Hilaire + Déco Delta
Landing: Atterro (A1) - Lumbin

Thursday 17 and Friday 18 September 2026 at St Hilaire

You can fly without registering, but the air show is fast approaching, so this flight is supervised and regulated by the Flight Operations Department.
You'll find all the information you need upon arrival at the various launch sites:

A team of dedicated volunteers, working closely with the Flight Operations Department, will be waiting for you at the takeoff areas on Thursday and Friday to conduct a mandatory briefing on schedules and flight zones.

You’ll recognize them by their Coupe Icare vests.

Guidelines and regulations:
- Last takeoff at 2:30 p.m. - The airspace must be completely cleared by 3:00 p.m. for the reconnaissance flight by motorized aircraft or gliders.- Dernier décollage à 14h30 - L’espace aérien doit être entièrement libéré avant 15 heures pour le vol de reconnaissance des pilotes motorisés ou des planeurs.

Last takeoff at 2:30 PM - The airspace must be completely cleared by 3:00 PM to accommodate the arrival of the pilots from the Icare SHOW, who will be conducting reconnaissance flights.

During our gathering, from Tuesday through Sunday, the allocation of takeoff sites, airspace, and landing zones is subject to specific organizational and regulatory guidelines, which vary depending on the activities and conditions. Thank you for your understanding.

Hanglider

Please contact the hang gliding coordinator to arrange a takeoff time.
Flights are subject to the site manager’s approval based on weather conditions.

Shuttle services for hangliders are organized by the activity coordinator.

Many of us fly

Paragliding school activities are not permitted during the Coupe Icare.

A team of dedicated volunteers, working in coordination with the Flight Directorate, will be at the launch sites on Thursday and Friday to provide a briefing on the schedule and flying zones.

Décollage depuis la Dent de Crolles

Le massif de la Chartreuse et l’emblématique Dent de Crolles sont des écrins de biodiversité précieux et fragiles. Classés et protégés par le Parc Naturel Régional de la Chartreuse, ces espaces abritent une faune et une flore exceptionnelles. Afin de préserver sa quiétude, pendant la Coupe Icare les décollages depuis la Dent de Crolles ont lieu le samedi et dimanche sur inscriptions accompagnés par les Gardes de la Dent. Last takeoff at 2:30 PM – To fly, you must have a reserve parachute and a radio set to the frequency that will be communicated to you by the Flight Director very shortly.
