A BIG FAMILY
The Coupe Icare is organised by the association ‘ COUPE ICARE.ORG ’, a non-profit association under the law of 1901, created in 1989.
Coupe Icare.Org is affiliated to the Fédération Française de Vol Libre and approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Its headquarters are in St Hilaire, at the Tourist Office.
The Coupe Icare.Org association is the project manager for the event. All major decisions and orientations relating to the event are taken either at the annual general meeting, or at meetings of the Board of Directors or the Executive Committee.
The work is then carried out by the association’s staff (2 part-time employees and one full-time employee) or entrusted to volunteers or partner associations.
1300 VOLUNTEERS AT OUR SIDE
All year round:
The organising committee is made up of 30 volunteers, each of whom is responsible for different activities relating to the event (Icare expo, Icare cinéma, Icare mômes, etc.).
The Board of Directors is made up of a maximum of 19 people, including 7 ex-officio members from the Institutions and 12 elected members.
During the event
The Coupe Icare relies on the support of no less than 1300 volunteers throughout the event. 300 of these volunteers are members of the Coupe Icare.org association.
The rest of the volunteer work is carried out by 35 local associations (Gresivaudan valley). This represents 1,000 volunteers. In exchange for this commitment, the Coupe Icare.org pays them a fee.
We also involve associations such as the Red Cross for first aid, Aremacs for waste management and Solid’Action for cleaning and tidying up.
This year we also worked with the Action Ado association and young people from the Plateau des Petites Roches.
THE TEAM OF FLIGHT DIRECTORS
The Flight Department is a team made up of a Flight Director and his deputies, as well as numerous flight activity managers and airfield managers. In all, more than forty people manage the organisation of demonstrations and airfields. Well done to everyone for their commitment and efficiency.
FROM THE OFFICE
The Coupe Icare office? A small office in a municipal building in the heart of St Hilaire, next to the Tourist Office.
It’s a small but friendly place, a beehive of activity where all the administrative and organisational aspects of the event are managed, and where the Coupe is made!
