Hike and Fly at the Dent de Crolles

For athletes only!

The Dent Guards are a team of amazing volunteers who will assist you so you can fly at the Coupe Icare from the Dent de Crolles!

But be careful, you have to be able to fly on your own to take off from a mountain launch site.

Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th, 2026

Takeoff location: Dent de Crolles (D4)
Landing location: Atterro (A3) - St Nazaire les Eymes

Important

On Saturday and Sunday, all flights from the Dent de Crolles are prohibited in order to comply with the pilot quota imposed by the Chartreuse Regional Park and to observe the flight ban in the restriced zone (only pilots registered for the walk-and-fly event may fly in the restricted zone, as well as microlight pilots participating in the official demonstration).

3 suggested itineraries:

The "607" :
607m of elevation gain, starting from Col du Coq at 8:00 a.m..

The "1207" :
1,207 meters of elevation gain, starting from the St. Hilaire ski slope parking lot at 7:30 a.m.
Technical route with overhangs; a good level of technical skill is required.

The "1607" :
1,607 meters of elevation gain, starting from the St. Nazaire-les-Eymes landing field.

Information:

Participants are responsible for making their own way to the starting point of the hike.

Food and water are not provided.

This event is organized with the authorization of the ONF and the Hauts de Chartreuse Nature Reserve (RNHC).
To protect wildlife and the environment, the Reserve has set a maximum limit of 75 pilots.
Rangers will be on site to ensure this limit is observed.

Please note

To fly during the Coupe Icare, you must have Third-Party Air Insurance that covers you for a minimum of 1 million euros (€1,000,000).

Examples of accepted insurance providers: FFVL, FFPLUM, Federación Aérea Madrileña, Federacio Aero Catalana, Federacio Baleares, SHV, FSVL, AIF, Versicherungen Makelburo Thomas Schaub, FIVL, Hungary FFA, NZHGPA, HACP, ACVL, Planeta Volo

Not valid: Home, Car, Travel, or Health insurance, as well as any insurance policy providing less than 1 million euros in coverage.
