“Patagonia: Summit Reached”, Denis Lukyanchuk, Kazakhstan, 2024, 38′

Grigoriy has a dream: to climb the peaks of Patagonia. Everything seems out of reach, until Omar, his friend and fellow climber, tells him to pack his bags, as he and two other friends, Denis and Marius, are already on their way to embark on the adventure. Each of them is traveling from different countries to Argentina. Together, they will attempt to be the first of their respective compatriots to climb a certain legendary peak.

Our heroes share their points of view: literally through their camera, and figuratively by exchanging views on the meaning of life, mountaineering and their ambitions. The team learns about each other’s good and bad sides, quarrels and reconciles before the main challenge: the ascent of Cerro Torre, once an inaccessible peak in Argentine Patagonia.

Alberto Bighellini runs a high-altitude mountain refuge in the Alps. The film shows his daily life, from clearing snow to looking after guests, and the joys and challenges of living in such a remote and spectacular place.

Every year, a ‘Carte Blanche’ is dedicated to a foreign film festival. This collaboration has been running for 12 years. It is an opportunity to share experiences, communicate, and introduce our respective events to a different audience.

Thus, in 2026, we will be hosting the Eho Mountain Film Festival Founded in 2010, Eho is North Macedonia’s leading festival dedicated to mountain culture, adventure, nature, and environmental stories. Over the years, the festival has showcased hundreds of films from around the globe, alongside lectures, exhibitions, workshops, publications, and debates aimed at promoting mountaineering, outdoor ethics, and environmental preservation. As a member of the International Alliance for Mountain Film (IAMF), Eho has become a key gathering place for filmmakers, climbers, adventurers, and mountain enthusiasts from Southeast Europe and beyond.
