Is it possible to fly as an independent pilot during the Coupe Icare?

Please note: there will be many people in the air, so be careful and do not fly above your usual level.

  • If you are a beginner pilot, this is not the time to fly. No supervision is provided by the event organisers.
Instead, take advantage of the event to talk to other pilots and familiarise yourself with the world of free flight.

About take-off from Dent de Crolles

Dent de Crolles is included in the airspace of the 52nd Coupe Icare. Take-off will be regulated from Thursday to Sunday.

Take-off closure:

  • Thursday from 3.30pm to 6.30pm
  • Friday from 1pm to 6.30pm
  • Saturday and Sunday from sunrise until 6pm. Only pilots registered for the Walk & Fly event will be authorised to take off from the summit.

Compliance with these closure times is essential to the smooth running of the Coupe Icare. Any violation jeopardises the event and its relationship with the aviation authorities. A ‘guard’ will be present at the Dent de Crolles to remind pilots of these times.
