New for 2025: aerobatic display in a biplane
Piloted by Fanny Viallard, member of the French team – Junior world champion (and only woman in the competition) in 2024 – Five-time French champion in the Unlimited category Fanny is from Grenoble. She started aerobatics at the age of 17. Now 27, she is a Boeing 737 airline pilot and aerobatics instructor. Her aircraft – the Pitts S2B – an indestructible aerobatic biplane (the first models were built in the 1940s) and very manoeuvrable. – It can fly at speeds of up to 320 km/h and withstand 6G positive forces. This is her first demonstration at the Coupe Icare!
The French Air and Space Force Aerobatic Team is back!
Every year, they perform the grand finale of the Coupe Icare, closing the afternoon air shows. These highly skilled pilots perform a series of manoeuvres above the Grésivaudan valley, climbing the cliffs of the Plateau des Petites Roches to surprise the audience watching the take-offs.
