Icarnaval – the disguised flight competition
Since 1983, the craziest of carnivals has become the emblem of the Coupe Icare for the general public. Car, bathtub, dragon, … Icarnaval is the kingdom of flying objects that aren’t always clearly identified!
More than a hundred paraglider and hang-glider pilots from all over the world take part in this spectacular competition, putting on a show at take-off, in the sky and on landing.

Paragliding aerobatics
A high-flying demonstration performed by the world’s best pilots, from the South take-off or from the helicopter.
Mini gliders / Speedflying
On Saturdays and Sundays during Icarnaval, between 2 disguised flights, you can watch the agility of the pilots under their mini gliders measuring just 10m².
Patrol flights
Around forty pilots take off from the top of the slopes of the St Hilaire ski resort to colour the skies with Icarus! A flight organised by the Parateam Club of St Hilaire.

In-flight presentation of the new 2025-2026 models (EN standard) from paraglider manufacturers, exhibitors at the Icare Expo trade fair.
The finesse competition is stepping up a gear and becoming: Icare Finesse!
In the beginning it was a game between young pilots brought up in the fresh air of St Hilaire. Today the major paragliding brands, with their best pilots, compete alongside leisure pilots on the school slope (behind the Icare Expo show). A fun-filled friendly contest organised by the Parateam Club of St Hilaire.
