Coming without a car
This year, all alternative transport solutions are available on the SMMAG website (the organisation that manages transport in the Grenoble region).
The M-Reso network is adapting to provide the best possible service for the Coupe Icare.
How to get to the Coupe Icare:
• by public transport (from Tuesday)
• by carpooling
• park-and-ride + free shuttles (weekend)
• landing > take-off shuttle (from Tuesday)
• by bike
Please note: the shuttles between Lumbin and St Hilaire will be subject to a charge this year. Pricing information is available on our partner’s website.

- Park and ride car parks P1 and P2 accessible from Saint-Nazaire-les-Eymes + purple shuttle bus (free) ‘St Hilaire Les Margains’ running continuously from Thursday to Sunday – See timetable
- Long-stay car park P3: from Tuesday. Please note that access is closed from 7pm on Friday.
- Car parks P4 and P5 accessible from Le Touvet
- Park and ride car park P6 in St Bernard accessible from Le Touvet + purple shuttle bus (free) ‘St Bernard Eglise’ running continuously on Saturday and Sunday only – See timetable
- Motorcycle parking:
– at the garage roundabout (Chambéry side) with helmet storage – from Tuesday
– at the St Hilaire nursery (Les Margains) – Saturday and Sunday only - Car parks for people with reduced mobility:
– Pré Lacour (near the north take-off) – from Tuesday
– Les Gaudes primary school (near the cafeteria and the Icare Expo exhibition) – Saturday and Sunday only - Motorhomes: car parks P1, P2 and P5. No reservation required.
Please note: exit from car park P3 may be difficult in wet weather. - Bicycles: parking in front of the ATV Cycles shop at the garage roundabout, Saturday and Sunday.
Electric vehicles
The electric vehicle charging station located at Place des Fontenettes in St Hilaire will be unavailable for the duration of the Coupe Icare, until the marquees have been dismantled (scheduled for around 8–9 October).
Road information for St Hilaire week-end
Use public transport for day trips, especially at weekends.
- The Route des Trois Villages is closed in the village centre (between the garage roundabout and the fire station roundabout) from 9am to 6pm.
- Use the Saint-Nazaire-les-Eymes access route. Car parks accessible from Le Touvet can quickly become full and traffic may be controlled by the police.
- Please note that one-way traffic is in place on the Chambéry side:
- ascent to the Plateau des Petites Roches via the RD29 from Le Touvet
- descent via the RD30 towards La Terrasse.

The car park next to the landing area will be unavailable from Tuesday onwards.

- Car parks on the north side of the village:
– Stadium
– Buissonnay (carpooling) - Park-and-ride car parks in Crolles and La Terrasse + orange shuttle bus (free), running from 9am to 7pm every 15 to 30 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays only – See timetable
- Motorcycle car park: Chemin de Pré Guillerme, access via Rue du Marais – Saturday and Sunday

– ESAT car park (Rue du Marais) - Motorhomes: Monfort car park. No booking required. From Thursday at 2pm.
- Bicycles:
– Icaravélo signposted routes from Grenoble, Gières, Brignoud, Saint-Ismier and Le Touvet.
– Bicycle parking to the south and north of the site, from Friday at 11am.
– Secure electric bicycle parking to the north of the site, Saturday and Sunday.
Lumbin road information
Use public transport for day trips, especially at weekends.
- All access roads to the site will be closed from 9am on Friday morning: Route de la Plaine, Chemin Pré Guillerme, Chemin des Longs Près.
- Chemin du Marais will remain open and will be filtered from 9am on Saturday.
