Throughout the year, you may encounter birds of prey during your flights.
They are actually good allies for spotting thermals, and it is always impressive to observe the finesse of their flight paths.
While interactions between human activity and wildlife can be wonderful encounters, they can sometimes impact animals and their reproduction.
Learn to interpret the behaviour of these majestic birds, to get to know them and recognise them so that you can better protect them.
Discover the resources and tools available to support your practice.
"Adventure: the driving force that propels us towards a better world?"
THURSDAY 18 September: 4pm – 6pm
by Jean-Baptiste Loiselet
Wings for the Planet
Jean-Baptiste Loiselet, who is attending this year’s film festival as a member of the jury, is above all an adventure enthusiast: he has crossed the Atlantic in a schooner, visited the Kerguelen Islands on a scientific mission, explored the seas piloting underwater robots, and even sailed to Antarctica in a small sailing boat.
About ten years ago, he discovered gliding and saw it as a fantastic opportunity to fulfil his desire for zero-impact travel and, above all, to sketch out answers to today’s big questions.
Could adventure pave the way for a better humanity, one that respects our planet and its inhabitants?
"Together for diversity"
FRIDAY 19 September: 3.30pm – 5pm
with the Women’s Commission of the French Free Flight Federation
Speaker: Zoé Moyaux
"FFVL Weather Commission: from dream to reality"
SATURDAY 20 September: 10am – 12pm
with Jean-Claude Labiche & Hubert Aupetit, elected member of the FFVL Steering Committee
Knowing what to expect in flight: this is the ABC of safe flying. Knowledge of the air (aerology, weather, climate) contributes greatly to this, even if it has remained the poor relation of training and information for licence holders until now.
Demanded for many years and prepared by a small group of aviation enthusiasts, this commission is finally seeing the light of day. Its initiators are here to present the project to you and listen to your requests.
