Volunteers make the Coupe Icare happen
If you’re interested in volunteering for the Coupe Icare, here’s everything you need to know.
We have 2 types of volunteer missions:
– Pre/post event
– During the event
Pre/post-event assignments
These assignments take place 2 weeks before the event and/or 1 week after: – Preparation, set-up or dismantling operations (counting, tidying up, installation, putting up signs, etc.) – You have to live in the place where you’ll be working (the plateau or in Lumbin) as there are no facilities to receive the volunteers and no canteen provided.
Missions during the event
Organisation
Missions are carried out by direct volunteers appointed by the Coupe Icare. Other missions are carried out by partner associations.
Volunteers must be over 16 years of age and provide parental authorisation between 16 and 18 years of age. Volunteers work in teams at one of 2 sites. Lumbin and PPR (Plateau des Petites Roches).
Volunteers take on various logistical tasks, such as
– Running an information point
– Directing the public
– Monitoring car parks
– Traffic management with the security provider
– Helping out in the restaurant and bar
– Driving a vehicle…
Volunteers must be available for a minimum of 8 hours.
Accommodation
The Coupe Icare cannot offer accommodation. Here are the options:
– Find a place to rent on the site where the event is taking place, but be careful, you need to make arrangements in advance.
On PPR :
– Les Dioux temporary ‘wild’ camping area.
– Secure a pitch at the campsite (chargeable)
In Lumbin:
– A campsite is located near the site at La Terrasse, accessible by shuttle bus. The organisation has a few places reserved for its volunteers in charge of logistics. Please contact us if you need them.
Equipment and meals
Volunteers will be given a t-shirt to wear on arrival to make them recognisable, and an access bracelet for the organisers with cashless support.
During the event, meals are offered to volunteers for every 1/2 day they are present.
In Lumbin, from Friday.
On the PPR, until Thursday, a temporary canteen will be set up at lunchtime, after which a meal credit will be activated on their cashless wristband.
