From Tuesday 14 to Satursday 18 September 2021
The 38th edition of Icares du Cinéma, scheduled for September 2020, could not take place due to the health crisis linked to Covid-19. The festival organizers have therefore decided to hold a 39th edition in 2021, offering the selection of films from 2020 and the films from 2021!
International Free Flight and Air Sports Film Festival
* From Tuesday 14 to Saturday 18 September 2021: the Icares du Cinéma will be in the spotlight for the enjoyment of all, with evening screenings (and during the day for unoffical selection) under the marquee of the takeoff south.
* Saturday 18th September, the Gala evening, will close the film festival with the announcement and screening of the award-winning films.
The Festival brings together cinematic productions (short, medium and full-length features) dealing with air, flight, wind and all aerial sports : paragliding, hang gliding, sky diving, hot-air balloon, sailplane, elastic jump, base jump, kite, boomerang.... Motorized aerial sports are limited to paramotor, ultra-light hang-gliding and paragliding, model aircraft, aerobatics and aerial feats.
Films concerning the bird flight are also accepted.
The Free Flight Film Festival receives around a hundred productions each year from all over the world. After a pre-selection by the organization, the best films will be submitted to the vote of the official Jury of the Festival: a jury made up of sports and image professionals (program producers, directors ...), but also to the Press jury as well as a Children's Jury. The latter is composed of CM2 students from the schools of St Hilaire, Lumbin and St Pancrasse. The festival director comes to schools to show selected films. The students then vote for their favorite movie.
The children's Jury will award two prizes in 2021:
For the 39th edition, the children's jury will meet twice: once in March 2021 where it will screen the 2020 films and award its prize; and a second time in September 2021 where he will watch the selection of 2021 films to elect his favorite!
