Icare Delta

The Coupe Icare, the world's largest free-flight event, celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023: as hang gliders always find a good excuse to celebrate, we'll be there to mark the occasion!

Make the most of the whole week by taking part in the 100% DELTA practical and theoretical workshops offered by Baptiste and his acolytes.

From Thursday to Sunday, join us near the DELTAPLANE big top, behind the Rogallo pavilion (Ellispe & Icaro stand), where we offer a range of activities for the general public:
- Our virtual reality DELTA simulator offers passers-by a sensory experience like no other!
- Our instructor-led discovery workshops are open to all those who want to get into the tapèze under real conditions in the field.
- The "Delta Evolution" exhibition presents the major stages in delta wing design, and demonstrates the gap between the wings of the 70s and those of today.

Delta revision workshops

ULTeam's 2-day introductory course to intermediate wing revision.

- Complete dismantling of the wing being overhauled,
- Integrity check,
- Restoration to manufacturer's
specifications.

5.00pm: Workshop 4 with Maxime LEVENEZ "How to fly in Annecy? Out of the box, classic cross country"
6:00 pm: Workshop 5 with Baptiste VAN ZIJL "Why and how to use your droguechute"
7:00 pm: Presentation of the "La Scia" site

Scia outing

6.00am: Meeting point at the St Hil ski jump
6.30am - 7.20am: Decos and "polar" flights
10.00am: Departure from Lumbin to La Scia
13:00 - 17:00: Flight at La Scia
17:00: Return to Plateau de St Hilaire
18:00: Workshop n°6 with Baptiste " How to fly with a simple surface ?
7.00 pm: Relaxing aperitif for participating drivers

Thursday 21st

Adjustment or flight workshop

9:00 am - 5:00 pm: Tuning course with ULTeam
- How to buy a used wing
- Reminders about centering
- The importance of side cables
- How does a delta turn?
- How to adjust batten tension
- Role of balestrons, rod tension
- Exercise "my wing pulls to one side".
